Osvaldo is the Professor of Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Western Australia. He completed his medical training at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and his postgraduate training at the Institute of Psychiatry in London, UK. He has been living and working in Australia since 1998. His research focuses on the identification and management of risk factors associated with depression and cognitive impairment in later life. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants, and has published over 350 peer-reviewed publication (over 20000 citations). He loves music, reading, sports (running, rugby), wine and time with friends/family.
